Transcervical Inseminations (TCI) are performed in the standing female after she ovulates, typically no sedation is required. We use fresh, chilled or frozen semen. The advantage of TCI is that semen is placed directly into the uterus, through the cervix, using a specialized scope and catheter. Timing of the insemination uses progesterone testing. Usually 2 inseminations during the fertile period (2 to 4 days post ovulation) are performed, and a combination of insemination techniques are sometimes used.
