Happy Holidays

The holiday and winter months are upon us once again, which means that our pets are spending more time indoors. Holiday treats can be a struggle not only for us, but for our pets as well.  Just a single season of increased caloric intake combined with a less active lifestyle can have significant effects on the health of our pets. Weight gain isn’t the only holiday hazard for our pets. Stories of animals that help themselves to dangerous levels of holiday treats and decorations when owners aren’t looking are endless. So this holiday season remember your pet when leaving that turkey out to cool, or decorating your Christmas tree with candy or tinsel. One oatmeal cookie for a dog is equivalent to one hamburger for a human. One ounce of cheese for our furry feline is equal to four chocolate bars for us. From our family to yours, here’s wishing all of you a safe, happy and HEALTHY holiday season!
